You know, I find it really strange that I can come home, get on the internet, and actually be able to blog about my day. Usually my life is very boring and consists of me doing nothing but sitting around the house and playing video games or just being on the internet all day. For the first time in my life, my summer is actually consisting of me doing stuff that's worth mentioning. I'm actually starting to feel accomplished! O:
So, for today: I woke up at around 1:30 and sat on the internet until 2:30, then got up to leave for my grandma's. Sitting on the kitchen table was a note that my mom wrote me before she went off to work that said: "Your car is absolutely soaked. Good job not rolling up your windows. Now your car will mold and stink!" Then there was a frowney face with "Not good Linz" written in a speech bubble. (This made me smile. My mom never draws.) and then she signed it with an "I love you". At 3am that night/morning I heard the thunder and knew it was going to storm, but didn't get up to roll up my windows because I thought I would get in trouble for being up. When I finally left the house and inspected my car, yes, it definitely smelled, and the seats were a little damp, but I left my windows down for the rest of the day and it dried out and the smell was practically gone. It just needs some febreeze.
While I was at my grandma's house I managed to finish reading the play that I was supposed to have read by tomorrow (it was pretty good, actually). Then I did two loads of laundry for her, and then my uncle showed up. He said that he was going to go back and paint the dock at the big pond so I volunteered to help. We managed to paint the upper part of the deck using just over a gallon of paint. We were surprised at how far it stretched so we figured we could paint another part of the deck. So we painted the bottom part, too. (We were using mini rollers and paint brushes before, but when he found the large roller on the broom handle painting the floor went really fast. I actually managed to paint the entire bottom deck almost entirely by myself.) At the end of the day I was very sweaty and hot and obviously covered in paint. I felt really good about myself, though. Instead of sitting around the house I actually did something good! I felt awesome. :3
So, I played with the kitties before I left and then made my way home. When I got home and was getting my backpack out of the back of my car my phone rang and it turned out to be my friend (who I haven't spoken to in several months) who lived down the street. He invited me to go swimming in his pool and I told him I would be over in a few minutes. (I made sure he didn't mind if I was dirty or not. He said "pools are like giant tubs, just get over here.") So I went and grabbed my suit only to find out we couldn't swim because his pool was "dirty". (His aunts are really just big meanies.) So, I invited them over to swim in my pool! =D We had lots of fun. I lit the tiki torches and started a fire and we swam until the storm started. (There was a flash of lightning and it scared me out of my wits. Needless to say I was out of the pool as fast as I could after that happened.) Nick even showed up after we got out. So everyone stood around the fire instead until I decided to go inside and grab them some sodas and change clothes. We sat at the table outside under the umbrella as the rain poured around us. It was actually a lot of fun.... Just, soggy fun.
Everyone left at around midnight so I went on in and here I am now... Writing about my day. xD Yet another good one. I wonder if I'm gonna have a lazy, unaccomplished day before too long...? Hm. I guess we'll just have to see.
